Stereo just turned off? Lil Help Please!

Stereo just turned off? Lil Help Please! Ok I was driving to school this morning and my stereo was on the radio mode and it seemed kinda weird because I had to press the button really hard to get it to come on and then 2 minutes later it just shut off and hasn't come back on since
Let me mention that my stereo thats in my car is an aftermarket Kenwood CD/mp3 player, but other than that the system is factory.
Do I have a bad fuse or whats the deal? I can't even get to turn on to eject my cd thats in there. Any help would be much appreciated. If it is a bad fuse which one is it?

u can check the fuse in the fuse panel of the car that is marked for the radio, u can check the fuse on the radio it self, or it will be inline with the power radio behind it.
does your radio have a reset button? try holding that in if it does. try that first then check the fuses. goodluck

is it one of the flip-face kenwood's? i had one that just all the sudden cut off like you are talking about. the problem was the cable that follows it when it flips over gets bent one to many times i guess, i had to replace the cable. cost about 30 bucks i think, doing myself.

There are three things that a head unit needs to come on
12v+ constant
12v+ switched (ignition)
- ground (bare metal)
The fuse is the most common place. If its not blown you need to check power on the two +12 wires and make sure the ground is secured. Make sure the connector did not come unplug from the HU. If all of these are correct then you have internal problems in the actual player.

Well I changed the fuse and it still won't come on, so now I have no idea what the problem is, I'm thinking about just replacing it with a stock monsoon head unit

interesting, i'm from nacogdoches 
like 2much said, you need power/ground/ignition for the deck to work. essentially you can take your power wire from the aftermarket deck and splice it onto the stock power wire and do that with a ground wire (or run a new ground) and the ignition wire, and then your deck will power on. if that doesn't work and your radio fuse is okay, your deck is bad. it's that simple. hell, next time i'm in nac i'll check it out for you, or i can call my best friend down there and get him to help you out since he knows a lot about this stuff too!

Im from lufkin. I hung out with guys/girls that went to SFA.
Just check for 12 volts on the ignition and power wire (with the ignition turned on) and then check the ground. Its not too difficult
