does that work...it's a mini zip tie, you buy them from any hardware store. Slide the pointy end through both holes and pull tight from underneath. Are you happy now

Thank you so much! Really appreciate it.

Seriously, thanks. I was really lovin the sounds of my milhouse box with the JL Audio 12w3 v2 powered by my Kenwood amp (400x1 @ 2 ohms), but was disappointed when the ends were sliding out of the grooves when flipping the box up for the t-tops (which is the main reason I bought this box). Since my previous subwoofer was a 10" bazooka, I would NEVER go back to the tube after hearing the milhouse.

Got an install to finish now!

Bringing one back from the dead....I'm looking to build one custom. I'll be running a single Orion XTR12 Series 2 straight out of 1997. I haven't decided what amp to use yet, but it'll be somewhere 200-300rms. I found specs online for the sub and they recommend 1.5 cuft for a sealed box. That's gonna take up about all the room I've got to work with. Good news is they recommend 5" mounting depth, alot less that my 12" Kicker CVR in my truck.

If I'm building the box myself, I'd like to hear some opinions of how to mount the sub. I know on the premade boxes the sub faces down into the well with it closed, but I'm curious how it'd sound with the sub facing up and out toward the glass with it closed. It'll be carpeted, and I'll end up probably putting some type of matching mesh over the speaker so you can't see it as good for security. I'm not as concerned about security since it's not my DD. My thoughts are that when it's open, I can mount some small pegs on it and it'll act like a downfiring box. I've got a downfiring 12" under the back seat of my Silverado that sounds great.

What would be the differences in sound facing it down like normal or up like I'm proposing?

How strong are the trim pieces that'll hold it in? I'm wondering if I'll need to do any reinforcing?

Show me some pics!

No one has a millhouse box anymore? I guess I'll just build it and if I don't like it I'll redo it.
