poor radio reception after sub/amp install??????

Default poor radio reception after sub/amp install??????

ok guys i have a 01 WS6 with the monsoon system
i recently added a amp and a 10' kickers sub in the driverside compartment, well after the install i seem to have shitty radio reception and cant get 2 of my favorite radio stations what could be wrong the amp is used and taps into the factory stuff on the passenger side the amp and sub seem to work fine i just get lousy reception now and NEVER had a problem before the install???

can something in the amp be messed up?
someone said the amp could me making RF??????

Hey Chef.

Do you have your power wires for the amp running adjacent to the antenna cable that runs into the back of the radio? That could definately cause interference issues.

Sounds simple I know but most of the time its cause the radios antenna is loose or has come unplugged. Your radio CAN work without it plugged in but the reception is pretty poor as you describe.

If you find its plugged in I suggest you take the fuse out of the amp to isolate the problem.

Also, make sure you didn't put a screw through the antenna cable when you were replacing the door sill trim panel.
