Default DRL question

hey,

I just wanted to make sure of a couple things before I go ahead and do this. The posts on here didn't really clear me up. But i want to put a switch in my 99 Z28 to basicly turn off my auto headlights and not affect my bumper lights. As in they still come on. I've been seeing people having problems with it and other saying the only good way to do it is opening up the thing and sodering. I just read on that said just splice the 2 wires (green, green white stripe) from the sensor into a 2 position switch and it works just fine.
So will this one work??? I want to be able to basicly turn off my headlights auto on feature when i feel like it but still be able to use my head light OEM switch. But when i do want to have auto headlights i can just flip the switch and the lights would work like stock.

The instructions (and diagrams) are in this thread: https://ls1tech.com/forums/wiring-stereo-electronics/281500-headlight-override.html. Basically, you want the switch to short the two sensor leads together to disable the automatic headlights - so the ON position of your switch will turn the automatic headlight function OFF (and vice versa). The two sensor wires are both light green with black tracer.
