Is the T/A radio interchangeble with a Camaro??

Like the title says.....my radio took a dump on me and a friend of mine has a stock Monsoon head unit from his WS6 and said I could have it. My question is if the radio will be compatible with my Camaro?? Thanks

interchangeble, yes.. but they look a lot different, I dont like the way they look IMO

yep - all interchangable. Even the steering wheel controls will work. If I remember correctly, there's a write-up in one of the stickies, although it's simply a matter of unplugging one and plugging in the replacement.

Although they are interchangeable, there are some differences. The Camaro radio is all black with blue-green illumination, doesn't have a power antenna connection, but does have speed sensitive volume. The Firebird radio is charcoal gray with lighter gray buttons and red illumination, has a power antenna connection, no speed sensitive volume, but has graphic equalizer controls.

I could be wrong, but isn't the power antenna pin there? I know there's no wire for it in the harness, but I seem to remember there being a pin for it anyway. Could be wrong - it's been a while.

You may be right - I also don't remember. The service manual shows the pinouts for the wiring connections but not for the radio itself. That position shows as "not used" on the Camaro but that doesn't mean that the pin isn't there on the radio - just that there is no wire in the connector for it.
