new to car stereos

new to car stereos ok, im probly gonna sound really stupid because i dont know crap about car stereos but here goes
2000 Z28, monsoon setup, door speakers, sail-panel speakers, and 4"ers in the hatch
shorty after i bought the car one of the s-p speakers stopped working, i took it out and found out that the wire that attaches to the cone broke, took it to a bunch of stereo shops, no one will touch stock speakers, so i figured id buy new ones, bought a pair of Pioneer 240W 6 3/4 speakers, and put them, they work fine, no compliants, but ive been reading some stuff in here and people were saying that the S-P speakers were subs???, did i buy the wrong speakers?

I'm not gonna get all technical, but music is kinda like beauty - if it sounds good to YOU, that's who should be impressed. No, you didn't get the 'wrong' speakers. Granted, what you bought doesn't match what's already there, but if you did go out and try to find a 'replacement' for what was there, you'd be spending a fortune getting everything else to match what you just purchased. Fact is, you noticed more than a lot of people that 'don't know about stereos'. Good job. Just my opinion.
