stereo problems
I have a 2000 ss and have recently been having problems with my radio. I'm not sure if it's the 10 min delay that the car has after you shut it off but while i am driving the radio will shut off and the windows won't work, everything else in the car will work when this happens except for those two things. if anyone knows what could be causing this please help me out. it's the most annoying thing to have to deal with while driving...the radio does work it just cuts off and on continuously and sometimes doesn't work for atleast 10 min. some times. if i shut the car off and start it again then it seems like everything resets and works for a little bit but it does eveything all over again. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Dito. We need more info.
I have a stripper CAr so no Power windows or locks. If I remember Doesn't the Timer Control allow the windows and radio to have power for until the Door is opened? If so, could be a Box common to both. I'm too drunk to figure thos out tonoght.

Intermittent problems like this are hard to diagnose (especially if they only happen when the car is moving).
The only common point connecting the radio and the power windows is the retained accessory power (RAP) circuit. The radio fuse and the power window circuit breaker are both fed from the BCM (body control module) through the RAP relay which is inside the BCM and not separately replaceable. You could check this by connecting a meter to the dark blue wire at the BCM and then driving around until it happens again. There should be power on the dark blue wire anytime the car is running (or the RAP is active) so if the meter shows no power when the radio and windows quit working then the BCM is the problem. Check that none of the wires in the BCM connectors are loose and if that checks out OK then replace the BCM.
