Delco MP3 head units

Delco MP3 head units after riding in a friend's Oldsmobile, I discovered she had a Delco head unit that played MP3s and had the XM Radio capability... my question is:
will a 2003+ Delco MP3 capable head unit work with the stock Monsoon system in our f-bodies?
do they make a conversion for this?
is it simpler to just go to an aftermarket head unit?
I ask this because I dont want to lose my steering wheel controls but it sure would be nice to have a head unit (or CD changer, for that matter) that played MP3 CDs...
