Angry Why are my Steering controls NOT lighting up?

I didnt have the monsoon in my car but the crappy stock radio with out steering wheel controls......, so today i did the steering wheel with radio controls swap. Everything went great, but i an just confused about thoes 4 wires that connect to the radio controls right behind the airbag.

Since im using a aftermarket headunit ( Pannosonic CD/MP3 unit, 2004) and i dont have swi-x yet, i need a way to test to make sure that i hooked everything up correct, but my problem is that when i turn on my lights, my radio controls NO NOT light up? There are four wires for the radio controls, one ground, one power, and the other 2 im not sure. I found that right before the radio control buttons i an getting 11 volts of power, which is good.... but why are my radio control lights not lighting up? Does it have something to do with the other 2 wires? Whats going on?

please help guys! thanks....
