Question ebay vs. locally

ok, im going with the kicker CVR 12'' 4ohm subs for my MTX 942 2ch amp. at circuit city they are asking 150$ a piece for the subs but if they ever blow i gat a new one for free. i found some for 70$ a piece on e-bay and i found some pairs for 130$ with 30$ s&h. what would be the better way to go? and do you thing i made the rite choice for subs?

Although I've never had a bad experience with ebay, plenty of others have. Personally, I like warranties - especially with things like speakers. You really have no way of knowing how hard those subs were driven before they were posted, so they may have really had the voice-coils heated pretty well. Not saying don't do it, just saying be careful. Of course, the seller will always say that they've been taken care of, never beaten. Mangled's .02 + mine = .04...

Right. Most of the well rated vendors don't sell crap because it would be bad for business.

I guess it comes down to the total cost Of shipping and the Subs vs Circuit, Tax, and warrranty. The warranty being the Biggest Difference.

When I worked for Circuit (10 years ago) The warranty on Subs was the only thing I ever pushed. People tend to really push Subs hard and they can go out. They truelly due just take the subs and give you a new one once or twice. After that they will want to look at your install. It's actually worth the Money if you are going to truelly use 1800 watts into them.

The warrenty is the only thing that sounds good, but we all know prices are way better through ebay. I have never had any problems through ebay but normally there is no warrenty. Sometimes you can get a warrenty from the seller on ebay if they are a dealer. I would go the ebay route, if you blow out your subs, the money you saved from not buying from CC you can purchase another set.

I know alot of the stuff sold on ebay is "new"
With that in mind I would never buy used speakers...especially off ebay.
I would try a local shop, tell them circuit city will do X for me, what can you do.
