I have a Harlan and it's been a while but I believe all I did was tap one wire into the tach signal, run another into an ignition power source and ground another wire.
As far as mounting it goes, that's depends on where you want it. It should be rather easy to install.

its a proform shift light
now see the only reason i was wondering how to do this is because i wasnt sure what the unstructions ment by running a wire to the ignition.,...like do i have to take apart the dash or what

You'll have to do a search to find out exactly what wire it is for your car. I think it was the #10 pin (white wire) on my car but mine is a 2001 and it's been a while since I did it so I'm not 100% sure.

I just checked on www.raptorperformance.com where I got my light from. I looked at the PCM pinout for a 2000 model year. You want to look at the red connector on your PCM. Then look for wire #10 which is white in color.

It was something about the weird voltage outputs of the LS1. The Raptor Performance shiftlight was my weapon of choice.
