Default MTX Thunderform hook up

I'm thinking of adding the 10" MTX thunderform to my '00 Trans Am monsoon system. I'll probably get the one with the amp included since I'm not too concerned about absolute performance. Question is this, if I'm right and it takes speaker level inputs, whats going to be the easiest way to wire it up?

The included instructions should be pretty clear about answering your question. Just make sure you follow them closely, and everything should work out well for you.

I just bought one of thes as well. I seem to remember a post saying that you should splice the wires in the SAIL PANEL SUBS in the backseat, not the ones in the hatch. I'd probably run from both so things are equal (Left and right) to your speaker level inputs. I going to put mine in soon. If anybody else has any input it would be appreciated.

Correct. The Rears are cutoff a bit higher than you'll want. The Sails are the best spot to get the leads from.

I don't have a monsoon so I'm not sure what the polarity for the Wires are.

I do have a good trick for testing though. Just pull the speaker and take a look at which direction the Plug is installed. It should only be able to go on 1 way.

Next take a 9v or Drill battery and some wire. The battery should say what terminal is what polarity. (+ or -).

When both are hooked up the speaker will move in or out.

Out is in Phase. + to +, and - to -.

In is reversed. + to-.

This way you can tell what terminal and corresponding wire is what polarity. I caution to only do it for a second or 2 MAX. Too long at full excursion is bad for the speaker. Just touch it and watch what way the speaker moves. It will only go 1 way, not back and forth.
