Default Will 6x9" speakers fit?

I won some 6x9's at a carshow. Has anyone used these anywhere in there F-body? I know the normal sizes are 6.5" just curious if I could fit a 6x9 in one of the spots or not.

without some fabrication you're better off selling them and getting some 6.5's

The ones in the very back? Its just plastic, you could cut to make them fit. The back is 4x6 ovals i think.

i put 2 6x9 in the back of my 93 and i have to cut out custom enclosers and use the grills that came with the speakers. it wasnt that bad but remeber you will have to run wire all the way back there which kinda sucked unless you want to hook it to an amp

Yeah, the ones in the very back. That's what I was thinking... They look big enough to fit 6x9s if they were cut.

I work at best buy and the guys in the back installed 6x9's in the place where my rears were not the ones near the back seat but the ones that are back at the hatch. they had to do a little cutting but I think thats it. I'm very happy that I went with the 6x9's

I took off my plastic panels on either side of my back seat. Then I held the 6 by 9's up to the hole where the 6 and a halfs were and traced where I needed to cut out. Then I went crazy with a sawzall, and it worked out great. No problems whatsoever. I did it to my 94 Z28 as well as a friends 98 firebird. It was pretty easy. 6 by 9's put out much better mids under power than 6 and a halfs do.
