Default Another Alternator gone

Please help. I have gone through about 4 alternators now. Was having a wierd problem with lights dipping when I first move off then it would go away. Now I got that problem fixed, went to test it tonight after just getting the alternator rebuilt. Put it in and took it for a spin. After about 3 mins I punched it and blew the alternator. Is there a break in required? Is there any upgrade I can get?

there is a technique for installing alternators, I've heard of similar experiences and it causes premature seizing. Look it up, or hopefully someone who knows can chime in.

Are you running a aftermarket sound system?

As posted above, where are you getting them from?

Discount Auto Parts, and then it was rebuilt locally (no discount auto parts here in the Cayman Islands. Its not seized, but just not charging....would i need to put a resistor in the line like what some people r doing?

Update:
Thank you all for your contribution. After looking at the alternator again, apparently when I floored it last night it pulled the small wire out of its connection. I'm missing the actual clip so the wire came loose. Hooked it back up and so far so good. THanks again.
