Default Installed pioneer avid n2 need help please!

I got the unit installed and now I have no front door speakers. When I took the monsoon off there were 2 plugs the bigger one which is the one I used but what is the smaller plug and does that have anything to do with no front speakers? Thanks. Oh yeah and where do I hook the vehicle speed sensor for the unit?

I don't think the speed sensor is near the head unit.

Not on the t/a the camaro is. everybody says the speed sensor you can tap in off the pcm. This is dumb but where is the pcm on these cars? And anybody got any ideas why my front speakers won't work now.

the smaller clip should be for the cd changer, im not sure if yours comes with the monsoon 12 disk stock but i think they still installed the wiring for it, and you need to get another accessory for the speed sensor. You might want to check your settings to see if the sound is all the way in the back.

Yeah I have sound in the rear seat and rear speakers but nothing in the front door speakers. And yes I have the cd changer but I know I can't use that now.

Well found the problem guys. Turned out the wires on one end were too small for the crimp connectors and the wires came out. Fixed it and works like a champ. Although still wondering about the VSS wire. Cause it seems to run fine even without it hooked up.

You don't say if you have a Camaro or Firebird. The VSS wire is in the radio harness on the Camaro (dark green with white stripe). On the Firebird you can pick up the dark green with white VSS wire at connector C220 under the glovebox. It is a 10-pin natural color (off-white) inline connector. The VSS wire carries 4000 pulses per mile.

Basically, the vss will give you a more accurate speed reading.

why not just ground it, and hook it up to a switch

btw, you still wont be able to watch movies like the old ones by doing this while driving

i thought the difference with the N2 was that it allowed you to watch movies without having to ground it like the N1

The n2 needs a jumper shorted to watch movies while driving even with parking brake wire grounded. It picks up the signal to shut the screen down from the gps. The n1 you could trick by simply grounding the parking brake wire. If you need to know how to bypass the n2 pm me.

i was just looking at this system on pioneers site and decided to pick one up.i drive a 99 trans am nd had some question;does it fit nicely or did you have to do custom fitting on it?i know its made for a double din opening but does our dash allow enough clearance?does it just slide in?2nd,on their site it never specifies if its navigation or if its gps.but im guessing since you guys were talking about the vss it does in fact have gps.is this correct?3rd,what does the vdd require?and finally, where are the pics man?i bet this is sweet why dont you have some pics?
