Use sound deadening (Dynamat is way overpriced) and use single sided foam tape or moleskin to stop buzzing between interior panels. Modeler's clay has also been used to deaden some big panels, but I've heard some horror stories about it melting in hot climates.

Dynamat is simply the best but their cost is f-in ridiculous. Give www.b-quiet.com a looky too, you can get 100sq ft for around $120 right now.

I'd go for more sound quality than SPL level. If you squeeze your amp to get it as loud as possible instead of stable and clean sounding it'll sound like total *** in these cars when the frequency from the subs mix with the frequencies created by the hatch vibrations.

dynamat is not the best. dynamat extreme is amongst the best, but certainly not the best. i would rate secondskin damplifier pro amongst the best as well as the raammat bxt stuff. but then again, there are people who are more than happy with peel n seal.
