JL 8W3v2 In Sail Panels

JL 8W3v2 In Sail Panels Saw this in another thread and since one of my MB Quart's were blown, figured this was a different way to improve my sound. I initally won an e-bay auction for a pair of new 8W0-D4's for $60 each. They were out, so offered me 8W3-D6. I agreed, but when I recieved the package, they had 8W3v2's!! I removed my old speakers and made the hole 7". Had to also cut the inner part to fit the speaker's magnet. I get no hitting on my panels either, but I keep the gain on the amp conservative.
My audio setup is now:
Jensen VM9410 7" flipout screen
3.5" MB Quart (For center channel)
MB Quart RCE216 Componet in doors
Two JL Audio 8w3v2-D4 in sail panels (for mids)
Three JL Audio 10w3v2-D4 in Subthump t-top box
Two SoundStream Van Gogh VGA320 amps (front & mids)
US Acoustic USX1000D (1250w x 1 RMS)
Stinger Super Cap
All Stinger wire and connections
My audio setup is now:

how happy are you w/ the 8"... I got 2 exactly like them for my base... I have a convertible though, and got the Johnny subbox... that goes in the dead-space behind where the top goes down.

The speaker surrounds only jump as high as the rubber piece that goes around the screw holes. That rubber piece touches the panel barely, so as long as I don't push the speakers to their limit, it won't hit.

How does it sound compared to having a 10 or 12in sub in the trunk? Do the 8's in the sail panels have the kind of hit that bigger subs have at higher volumes? And how is the mid bass?

Thanks for the props, though this wasn't my idea. I just took the idea and added my own subs. 
Not sure how I can compare it to having a sub or 2 in the trunk. I have 3-10s. They don't come close to comparing to them, but these things have SO MUCH more mid-bass range and can hit alot lower than the 6.5" MB Quarts that were in there!! I wished I'd started off doing this in the begining. I do it all over again if I had to! Though I will say cutting the larger hole in the car kinda hurt to do, not to mention takes a little determination and patience to get it the right size.
