C5 Mirror to a 99Z
C5 Mirror to a 99Z I ahve installed an 01 C5 mirror, (auto-dimming) in my 99Z. However, the interior courtesy lights stay on, the constant power keeps them on. I managed to get the constant only unhooked and the mirror works for everything else, (map lights, auto-dimming, etc.) but when you open the doors. I was wondering if anyone else has done the same and if so, how did you wire the power to remedy this issue. I was thinking maybe tapping off the rear courtesy light or something. Any help is appreciated.

It's actually the ground wire that controls turning off the courtesy lamps in the mirror. There are two separate ground wires - one white and one black. The black is direct to ground so that the map lights will work with the switches. The white wire provides ground through the BCM which shuts it off to turn off the courtesy lights.
So, you should have three wires at the mirror connected as follows:
Dark blue with white - 12V power feed (shuts off if door left open more than 10 minutes to prevent battery drain)
Black - ground for map lights through switches
White - ground for courtesy lights
