It won't work - especially if you have a Monsoon system in the 98. Monsoon speakers are 2-ohm unlike almost all other systems. Besides, if I remember correctly, the third generation cars had 6x9 speakers in the sail panel (next to the rear seats), speakers in the dash, and no speakers in the hatch area. Fourth generation cars have 6.5S (oversize) subs in the sail panels, no speakers in the dash (they're in the doors instead) and small component speakers in the hatch area.

Crutchfield recently had some coaxial Blaupunkt's on sale for like 15-30 a pair. You could get some good replacements that way. I'm sure there are cheaper options and you don't need much for a factory deck - but for a decent speaker from a good retailer that's one of the better deals I've seen recently.
Don't forget that good quality OEM Monsoon speaker sets can grab upwards of $100 on eBay. It's crazy, but it's true.

92 camaro has 4x6s in the dash
5.25s in the doors and
6.5s in the rear.
You might look into infinity for a good quality (while maintaining good quality) alternative
