Can i still use the Stock Headunit??
Can i still use the Stock Headunit?? I have a box and subs and am getting an amp and i was wondering if i would be able to wiret his to my stock headunit ( i love it cuz it has an actual equalizer) Any help would be great. Not looking to spend money on a head unit at the moment.

Head units typically have a small built in amplifier to enable them to drive speakers directly. Many aftermarket HU's give you low-level outputs that do not go thru this amplifier stage, called pre-amp outputs. These are only used if you have a seperate amplifier to drive your speakers and are typically routed thru RCA cables.
Some amplifiers (not many) only have low level RCA inputs. This requires the use of line level converters to take the speaker outputs from your head unit and convert them to low level RCA outputs to send to your amplifier.
