Default Looking for a little more bass

My brother has a subthump stealthbox with a Alpine 10" type R. He's wanting more bass. Price isnt an issue, but mounting debth is. Are there any other subs that will fit in this box that can put out some bass? BTW, he's running a JL amp making 1000watts at 1.5ohm I think. Thanks in advance

I am running both driver/passenger side stealboxes and this was an improvement over the driver side alone. Which Type-R Sub is he running? The older versions have a lot less cone area compared to other 10's. I am also running 2 Alpine Type-S Subs and they hit really well. I am also using the scan-speak aperiodic vents to make the box appear bigger and it really helped the bass response and is much better than the polyfill/sealed box set-up.

I'm running a jl 10w3v2 in my stealth box, and I am very happy with it. Most people who heard it were surprised it was only one ten. Don't know if it will be enough for you, just an option.

the 10" subs by elemental designs put out a lot of bass, and the subthump stealth box webpage mentions them specifically... check those out.

i have heard two elemental design 6.5" woofers in a toyota truck and they sounded like 10"s or 12"s... they were stunning! even the 6.5" woofer's cones could travel like 4-5" up and down, its nuts...

I'm running an old Rockford amp, 2 channel bridged. The amp says 55.2, But I assure you it is not 110 watts. I have heard alot of people say that these amps are underrated, are they? I don't know, but it makes my 10 hit like a beast.

Its a newer type R. Its less than a year old. The system pounds like crazy to me. But my brother wants more bass which makes me think hes crazy.

I've already looked into it. I talked to a sales rep. and he said I wouldn't be able to tell much of a difference if any. I too have heard nothing but good things about them. Very affordable. www.elementaldesigns.com

Get the passenger side stealthbox and add another Type-R Sub.

thought about it but that would mean another amp and possibly a better alt. or even another battery.

Sorry to butt into your forum chad but I am about to buy a sub for a stealth box and I was thinking on getting the Rockford Fosgate punch stage 3 to put in it(thats what the boys at crutchfield.com told me would be best). Anybody have any other suggestions for a sub? I don't have an amp yet i'm just gonna wait untill I get the sub so I can match them up.

I have an Infinity Perfect in mine and it sounds awesome. When it blows (if it does) I will get either a JLw3v3 or a Type R

I'll model up some drivers and edit this post in a bit. Let me know what drivers you're interested in and I'll fit them in if I can find t/s parameters. (better yet, list them for me)
