Default moving CD changer

I am putting a subthump box in the place where the 12 disc cd changer came stock but I want to keep the cd changer and just relocate it. The best place I can find to put it is right behind the backseats on that deck thing that has those two little black hook things. But I needed to know if there was anything below that like where I couldn't drill a hole to put a bolt to hold the cd changer in place?

I have seen changers installed on the other side of the trunk. You would have to cut a section of the trim panel. The spare tire could remain and you have to lengthen the harness.

I found a good place for it without having to cut anything. On top of that deck or whatever it is. But I just need to know is there anything I would hit if I drilled a hole through it.

Hawk, thats what I was thinking so the fuel tank is directly under there? Anybody have any other ideas for mounting it anywhere else? Because I would really like to keep it and get some use out of it.

I mounted a premier 6 disc underneath the drivers seat, don't know how much bigger the delco, but it's worth a try.

The Delco 12 Disc is huge and isn't going to fit under the seats.

You could also mount the CD Changer to back wall of the trunk. You would have to construct a panel to mount the cd changer to. This is similar to what I have.

You can use the plywood under the carpet mounting method. That way you can easily avoid the fuel tank.

What about putting velcro on the bottom of the cd changer and just sticking it to the carpet behind the rear seats?

Would velcro be strong enough to hold it I wonder because I could put it up on that deck if it was. Is the fuel tank right below that spot or is there a couple inches gap or something because if there was I could use some self-tapping screws to hold it in the metal.

Most of the area has a 1/2 gap to tank. Thats why the plywood is popular.
You make the piece fit from side to side and attach outside the tank placement.

Well I just found out exactly how close the gas tank is to the deck thing its about 2 cm which isn't enough room for any kind of self tapping screw. I guess I will just have to find somewhere else to put it or just not use it at all. I planned on mounting my amp there to but it don't look like I will be doing that now. Anybody know of some places for the cd changer or amp?

The plywood under the carpet is undetectable if done well.

Not of the plywood but I moved my changer to the other side. Check it out. May give you some ideas.
