I was hoping that maybe some of you had installed a stereo in a toyota pickup before. My question is do you need any special tools to take the factory stereo out like you do in Fords and other vehicles?

What year is it?
If it I think from 89 uo it is easy.
No special tools other than a screwdriver and a 10mm socket or wrench.
Try a goole search for www.installdr.com or www.installdoctor.com and they have tech articles with pics on removing stereo`s.
I would type it out but thats way to much typing

I took the OEM unit out of my 98 Toyota Tacoma and the worst part was removing the dash bezel without breaking it.I installed a Pioneer head unit and used a kit I got from crutchfield and it went in very smoothly..
