i dont wanna highjack the thread...just curious...can you take off the "T" section of the roof of an f body without messing it up???...could you put it back if you wanted to and it look just as good as before...cuz i have been thinkin of actually doing a custom fiberglass enclosure for a touch screen that would be in front of the pass side seat but would face the driver and a nitrous arm switch...im just scared to take off that "T" section cuz i dont want to mess it up!

TUMBLRws6:

Please don't. There are better ways to do that, i'm sure. In any case...i see permant damage in your future if you try this...and if you don't like the end result, it will be that much more annoying to you...look at some different options...like...uh, taking out the whole front passenger seat...at least that is factory removable and can be put back if you decide you don't like it....

When I picked up my 2000, he was making a comment about making a custom bumper for the LS1s. I'm assuming he was going to have a scanner cutout. But what exactly are you looking for in the bumper? Just filling in the nostril holes for a more solid look?

Just what you said Mark may be doing, last time i talked to him on the phone, he had not created a T/A LS1 bumper with a place for the scanner...so yea that's what i want.

If you use the overhead out of a 96-03 s-series blazer it is the perfect width and has a thermometer and compass. You can shorten do a little glasswork and the rewarp it in headliner material. I am in the process of doing it in my car now. I'll post a few pics as i get it done.

yea I knew you could move them alittle, like glovebox... but I kinda like the idea of moving them to the roof so I can fit a touchscreen where they are...

The s-series do not have the spot for the a/c stuff like the chevy pu and suburban overheads do. It would beneat but the prblem is the dam temp control door cable. I'll try to get some pics pdq I have not had time tinker in a couple of days. Trying to get end of semester stuff finished for graduation.
