Default alpine touchscreen

anyone have any opinions on them? i cant remember the exact one im talking about but it is the one that you usually see everywhere. like the one on crutchfield. i was thinking of getting it from a friend that works at best buy. or maybe somewhere i can find it cheap. like 800 or so. but just wondering if anyone has it or likes it. i know there are better ones out there but i really like the alpine especially the ipod interface it has. anyone use it or have any opinions

the screen, as well as almost every screen will hit the vent, unless you use a huge kit (like the GM multi kit) which makes the radio stick out some. It looks like **** when the screen is not open

but as for the screen, the alpine is an amazing unit

I have the alpine IVAD300. I havnt installed it yet but from seeing it on display in Bestbuy it seems pretty cool. They have the touch button thingy to simulate a button feel when touching the screen. As far as sound quality and picture quality, i'd have to get back to you. Hoping to finally install this in the near by week.

I have the Alpine 310 touch screen in my ride. Its awesome! The install was pretty involved tho. There is no where to mount the brain box close to the head so I had to modify my monsoon amp bracket and mount it behind my spare tire. I went with type S Alpine speakers and Alpine amps all the way around (componets in the doors, 6.5's in the sails, 5x7's in the hatch and a 10" sub and stealth in the rear with a m350 amp and a f240 amp) I really love the system.

Im getting the same unit, but my question to you is.... Can you mount the brain box under the seat at all?? I dont want to have to mount mine in the back like you did. Also, you got any pics?? Thanks

I couldnt see any way to do the install under the seat. Plus take into account all the wires coming from the brain. rca types going to your sub amp and 4 channel, control leads, antenna cable, ai-net connector if an external cd changer or i-pod is used, tunner and interface if you get sat radio and you still have the navigation and back-up camera option. Plus you still have the wiring harness and monitor extension cable. For me it just seemed easiest to do it in the back of the car where the brain would be more accessible and would for sure stay dry. With all that said and not meaning to hi-jack this guys thread I would be more than happy to post a few pics. Just let me know if there is anything specific you want to see.

I got the IVAD300 in my ride and I ****** love it There's no way to fit the brain under the seat though, I have mine mounted under the carpet on the passenger side close to the dashboard. It takes about an inch or two away from your passenger's leg room, but most chicks aren't that tall anyway so it really doesn't matter
