Default Orange HU backlighting, who has it?

I dont know if this is an old discussion, i did a short search and found nothing so here goes. Are there any current head units that have the orange backlighting like the in car lighting that pontiac has. I know up until about a couple years ago Alpine could change between green and orange, but i cant find anything anymore and i realy dont want to buy a used one or have the lighting unmatched. I dont want some crappy HU from target or anything like that just beacsue the lights match either, it needs to be a quality HU. I had had one of the Alpine's and it was stolen, I loved that HU.

I'm the same way as you. The only thing thats held me back from gettin a HU for my car was the lighting on all of them. The ones that I actually found that matched the color perfectly were cheaply built units.

Lately though the Eclipse CD7000 has my eye. If you go to their website and click on the "other features" button for that model it has this little animation of it scrolling through all of the different color combos. It has all amber which seems to be what you're going for and it has all red which is what I'm going for. The menu on the screen seems to stay a light green throught the cycling but seeing as how it displays gps in color I'm sure you could throw up your own custom pic or screensaver. Unfortunately it has a bigass price tag on it. Crutchfield has it listed for $700, you can probably find better deals but I'm guessing generally its going to be in the mid to upper hundreds. Finally find the one HU I'd consider putting in my car and its outa my reach. Go figure. Not sure what your price range is so I thought I'd throw this one out there for ya.

Thats beautiful!! When I get a WS6 I'll be ripping out the monsoon system, and that h/u will be first on my list.

i was looking at the eclipse site per the advice you gave me and it seems that most of their HU's have the changing colors. Im gonna have to find those somewhere to see them in person cause I cant really tell waht the orange is gonna look like from the pictures (it looks like peach to me) but i like what im seeing. The one you showed me is pretty high on my price range but some of the lower models are looking promising to me.

That JVC looks nice too I've just never had luck with any JVC products in the past so i tend to steer away, but I'll give it a look.

Panasonic has a new headunit, model 7413, which can change into any color to match your interior. I don't have it, but I saw it in a store, and it looks pretty good. BTW, I think the interior lighting is red, IMO.

I'd still take the Panasonic, both the buttons and the display colors can be changed that way no parts of it will look out of place in the dark.

It's good to see I'm not the only one who cares about this! Anyone who has an aftermarket h/u feel free to post up some pics!

K wow that panasonic unit is really nice and affordable too. Looks like it has a lack of buttons but I'm sure its not too bad. Even has wireless remote so it should work with the pac swix or whatever for the steering wheel controls. I just might pick this one up soon.

Ok I went to the local car audio store, and they had the Panasonic H/U for about $260. Its a way better radio than my Pioneer 6700mp, and the colors were fun to play around with. I had it set on red, I think it will match the pontiac interior lighting pretty well. I had the buttons set on white and the display set at a blue'ish green to match the Chevy interior lighting. Damn this thing is nice! The sound quality was alittle better than my H/U at the closest settings I could get it to.
