Default Help me find a wire

I'm looking for a wire under the dash to tap into for some LED's that I want to come on only when the door is opened or the the interior lights are turned on. And where the heck is the switch that turns the lights on when you open the door? thanks

What I did to splice in some floor board lights was tie into the lights behind the front seats. The switch you're asking about somehow works off the latch in the end of the door.

The interior light switch is a push-button switch that's located on the front door jamb.

No, Roadhouse is correct - the switch is in the door latch. They used to be a separate button on the door frame but not since 98.

You can tap into the dark blue with white wire in the 6-pin black connector at the BCM. This is the courtesy light feed. If you want the same theater-style dimming as the other courtesy lights then you will also have to connect your ground to the white wire in the 32-pin blue connector at the BCM. It provides a ground for the courtesy lights that is gradually reduced to produce the fading effect.

The BCM (body Control Module) is a black box about the size of a paperback mounted under the right side of the dash near the blower motor.
