newbie to car speakers question
newbie to car speakers question Okay everyone, i am a newbie when it comes to getting new speakers for my car. I have a 2001 SS w/monsoon system. My sail panel speakers are completely blown and sound like crap. It really embarrasing to have a nice car with crappy speakers. my question is.....is it better to get 2 ohm or 4 ohm speakers. Also are the infiniti kappa speakers any good. Are they worth the money. If I could get some advice on something to get, id appreciate it.

Infiniti Kappa's are nice, they won't sound that great off your stock system, well, pretty much anything sounds like **** off the stock setup. You will probably be happiest with a new head unit and then replace the speakers. I think the stock speakers are 8 ohm but I can't remember exactly. The lower the impedance the harder it will drive that stock POS amp, if you want to call it that 
I would get some new stock sail panel speakers from someone's part out car, then replace the head unit and see if that helps the sound, then go to new speakers, amp, etc.

The sail panel speakers are only for bass in a monsoon set-up. You have to be careful what you put in there. There should be a couple of threads on replacement speakers for camaro sails, do a search and I'm sure you will find a couple of options.
