NEW Speakers??

Im looking to upgarde my factory speakers i have the monsoon 500watt audio system right now and i beleive a few of them are blown. just wondering what are the size speakers i need to be looking for. Mostly what size are the onse in the front doors and everything??

front doors and sail panels have 6.5. The back ones are 4-inch. What type of speakers are you buying for the sail panels because mine are blown also?

also on the front door speakers what is the lil speaker above teh big one is that a tweeter

Polk audio makes some really nice speakers, my friend has a p/a system in his transam, theres an fbody shop in tampa that does rockfordfostgate, im not sure how they are

not sure about t/a's, but the little 1" speaker is normally ur tweeter. as far as direct replacements, alot of people on here go with the kappa's or alpine 170's, which i believe can be bought, as a pair, under $100.

Tweeter it is. Firberds have 6.5" component speakers in the doors, 6.75" midbasses in the sails. The rear hatch area has a pair of tweeters in addition to the 4" midranges found in the Camaro setup back there. That's why GM calls it a "10 speaker" stereo system. The Camaro's have coaxial mounted door speakers, but they are wired seperately like components.

All tweeters are driven by the Head Unit, while mids and woofers are driven by the Monsoon amplifier. The 4 woofers are low-passed in the amp so only get frequencies below about 2KHz (maybe lower). The 4" mids are the only signals from the amp that are full-range.
