Default CD player says Err then spits out the cd...

Yea, so just one more crappy monsoon item to cash out. Anyone had this happen?

Well, I guess the HU's laser is prob dead and this is an opportunity to upgrade so I can use my ipod in the car now....any suggestions on a HU?

you could buy one of those $10 cd laser cleaners and try that first. but odds are you're right laser is dead.

Does it spit out the CD right away or does the player spin-up, try to read and then spits it out? If it's the former, the problem is mechanical. You may have somepeice of debris clogging the works. Try getting some electronics spray from Radio Shack and spraying the slot well. Note: I suggest trying this with the power off.

yea it does that. It sounds like its seeking or scanning to a track, and it never finds one. Maybe I will try what you said. Thanks bud!
