In-Dash DVD help...

In-Dash DVD help... I am in the process of installing my new in-dash DVD player. The problem I am running across right now is the pink parking switch wire coming out the back of the deck. It is suppose to be connected to the parking brake, or I have been told to just ground it so I can watch DVD's while driving. One of the issues is that I DO NOT have a parking brake. A while ago my Torque arm broke and ground off all my cables, so I just took it out since it was broken anyways. I have tried numerous different ground points for that pink wire and it continues to not work at all. I know for sure it is currently hooked up to a very strong ground point. How can I get the DVD's to play?? My car is a 95 Z28 and the Deck is a Jensen VM9311 DVD. Any help is appreciated.
