Default Would an Alpine CDA-9856 work with my steering wheel controls?

If I replaced my deck with an Alpine CDA-9856, would I be able to use the factory steering wheel controls? Thanks.

You almost always need an additional control module if you want to use factory steering wheel controls with an aftermarket head unit. I think they're $50-65.

yeah i just bought that 9856, basically heres what you have to buy. You have to buy the remote control for the head unit, cost me about 40 bucks. Then buy the PAC universal X steering wheel adaptor and your set. The pac is about 50 bucks as was mentioned.

But don't '98 & '99 cars not use the infared remote? I thought I saw somewhere that it was run by a cable instead.
