Default Fixing The Coolant Gauge (help)

I'm almost dont fixing the stock coolant temp gauge but as of now i cant get it to respond to my sender

when i ground out the signal wire the gauge sweeps to the right while when i give it 12v it sweeps to the left... but when i hook it up to my 1 wire sender it does nothing

BASICALLY WHAT TYPE OF SIGNAL DO I NEED TO CREATE TO MAKE THE GAUGE SWEEP AND WHICH TYPE OF SENDER PROVIDES THIS SIGNAL

im guessing the std. 1 wire senders are not providing me with the right signal for a stock gm gauge butthen the question is what sender should i buy?
