Damaged Sub?

What would do this to a subwoofer,

Besides being dropped? Hooking it up wrong, to much power, what?

Dropping it might cause that.
Cheap (or contaminants) when the magnet was formed/created
EXTREEME heat might crack the magnet like that.

Did you buy it used? That appears like someone droped it. It may have been damaged while shipping. I just dont think too much power could do that too the magnet, but if so that is the first I saw.

How many stiffining ribs around the sub, if it has 12 its a MTX 8000, the magnet looks like a 8000. If it has 8 ribs its a 6000. I had 2 12's 8000, they were bad ***!

Ok, I took a real good look at the picture and you are right it is a MTX 6000.
