For myself, I kinda wanted to keep the stock monsoon headunit & setup (for the most part), but upgrade the sound quality.

What I am running is the stock monsoon headunit,
I added JL Audio 10" sub w/amp (in the rear hatch corner),
and most importantly, removed the 2 monsoon speakers in the back seat area.
I kept the other 8 factory speakers in place.

To me, it was important to remove these 2 speakers, since they are the worst from the factory. The JL sub took care of the base without distortion.

its is very possible all you have to do is have the wiring diagram that shows you the pins ins and outs and then use the exisiting wires to plug in the new amp and HU. If you need more info I had a post like 3 months ago that went into detail on how to do it.

anyway to save you sumtime here it is I found the info

This is the correct sequence for camaros with the delco amp.
THis will allow you to bypass the amp and use the existing speaker cables and just use a new HU. So all you do is bypass the amp and connect the wires together instead of goin thru the monsoon.

If you wanted to use a new amp all you do is run the RCAs to your amp then use the diagram ignore the pin inputs and just use the pin outputs to show what are the wires.
ANy questions shoot me a PM.

THis applies to the front speakers and the rear seat speakers.

Signal/Input (Color)/Output (Color)

Left Front Positive/E3 (Tan)/E15 (Dark Blue)

Left Front Negative/E2 (Grey)/E16 (Light Blue)

Right Front Positive/F1 (Light Green)/F7 (Orange)

Right Front Negative/E1 (Dark Green)/F6 (Dark Green)

Left Rear Positive/E7 (Brown)/F11 Dark Blue / White

Left Rear Negative/E6 (Yellow)/F10 Light Green / Black

Right Rear Positive/E4 (Dark Blue)/F5 Dark Green

Right Rear Negative/E5 (Light Blue)/F4 Light Blue / Black

Right Rear Negative/E5 (Light Blue)/F13 (Red)

You don't have to run new speaker wires. You can run a new head unit with a conventional GM installation harness, run RCA's from that, along with new battery power line and turn-on to the back to your new amp.

From there it is absolutely possible to feed your amp outputs into the monsoon amp output wiring harness using the pinouts above.

There are of course, many differing opinions about using the thin factory speaker wires with an aftermarket amp - but it absolutely does work and is possible.

Someone can run the math of the actual electrical capacity of the factory wiring. I know it can take 75rms just fine. You might start having legit problems around 150 -200.
