Default monsoon amp gettin hot

ok i was cleaning the car and removing my old system and i figured i would look at the stock amp well i unbolted it and sat it on the hatch and was playing the music and noticed its getting really hot.so hot you can put a drop of water on it and it will sizzle ive never had it out before .do they all get hot like this or what .all the speakers are the same as when i had the car just got a pioneer head unit in their .been this way for about 5 months any help .or did the amp short out .it just get real hot on one side of it but plays fine

amps usually get pretty hot, but i dont know about being over 200 degrees to sizzle water. if its still working, just getting hot, consider some kind of cooling fan for it.

ok i just took a digital temp pointer and it read 150 degrees .and it holds that temp but just on one side of the amp i had the other in my hand but i thik the right side was the one gettin hot

If you had it sitting out in the sunlight, it would make the amp run hotter than usual by a pretty large margin.

Sizzling water hot I don't know about but many amps will get too hot to keep your hand on.
