Default My car is posessed

OK, so my power locks started acting up recently. When I go to unlock the doors, they instantly relock. To get the door open I have to hit unlock and grab the handle really fast. If I try the key the solenoid is so energized it would break the key off. I can manually unlock it from the inside but it takes a lot of force on the lock lever. Once the car is started they keep actuating every 10-30 seconds for a while. It kept doing it while I was driving home today. I finally parked it and disconnected the battery. Is there a way to check the ground on that circuit or the control module? Anyone know where it is located? Is it possible the switches in my door are messed up and causing this? This is one thing I did not expect so have no idea where to begin. Thanks for any feedback.

I also searched and came up empty.

It sounds like the BCM is receiving a lock signal all the time. This is on the red with black wires from each door switch to the BCM. It's a ground signal so it's possible that one of the wires is shorting to ground or that one of the switches is faulty. You can test the switches by just unplugging them and seeing if the problem goes away. Otherwise you might have to track down someplace that the insulation has worn away on the wire and it's grounding out on the chassis.

Thanks WhiteBird00. Do you know where the BCM is? I can probably take the door panels apart and check for broken or bare wires. But how far will I have to chase these wires? I assume the module is in the dash or something? Should be fun. I guess I should expect some things to wear out. The car is 7 years old now.... Hopefully this is something easy to find and fix.

The BCM is a black box about the size of a paperback mounted under the dash behind the glove box. It has three connectors - a green 6-pin, a black 6-pin, and a blue 32-pin. The red with black wire is in the green connector (next to the orange with black unlock signal wire so be careful to get the right one).

Thanks again WhiteBird00 I appreciate the help. I unplugged the lock switch tonight and will see if that helps tomorrow. If not, the BCM is next on the list to access and check.

Just wanted to update everyone. I started taking everything apart. Unplugged and replugged door lock switch connections. Tried to unplug BCM but it would not, so pushed it to make sure it was fully installed. Drove the car for a week or two with things still easily accessable and had no issues. Put the car back together last week and still no issues. So I am guessing there was a loose connection somewhere in the system that I somehow fixed. Thanks again for the input.
