Default Power wire through firewall???

Where did you all find room to run power wire through the firewall?

Most likely I will be using 1/0 gauge with a Streetwires firewall bushing.

Is this grommet big enough to pass a 1/0 cable through there, or will I have to down-size to 4 gauge?

I ran mine under the car and brought it up through the trunk. I drilled a hole to put it where I wanted it, but there is a couple grommets in the trunk area you can use.

It depends on where your putting your equipment on where to run the wire. I personally would never run a wire that size from the front to back inside the vehichle unless I didnt have a choice.

the grommet where the pcm is is large enough for whatever gauge. I ran my 2 gauge through there.... or 4 cant remember and there is still lots of room.

Man id be careful with that, either wrap some wire loom all along the wire exposed to the elements or just dont drive in the rain or snow.... thats kinda dangerous if you ever have that rubber seal break

I ran a 1/0 through passenger side firewall and along side of door to trunk. Can not tell that its even there. Inside you dont have to worry about anything snagging something that big on out low cars.

Did you also use the gromment under the PCM to run the 1/0 cable through the firewall?

I was planning to run the cable along side the door as well, under the carpet.

I ran through the existing hole, slightly enlarged with file. Then used auto sealing putty around wire and hole. Theres plenty of room under carpet, but you have to hold wite down in rear floorboard to keep it from walking toward foot area and making a hump.

i know, but im just saying i would hate for him to have to run a whole new wire because he didnt do it right the first time, and if it wasnt fused then it would be more dangerous

I know you guys just care about me! I've ran every car I've ever done with 4 gauge or bigger under the car. I dont like the way big wire bulks up everything. Espcecially when your rewiring everything and have a group of wires to pull to the back.

Also, I didnt say it was fused, which it is. Only a complete moron wouldn't run any power wire like that and have a fuse or circuit breaker.

The wires I did pull into the car, like my e-cutout/fans, I drilled a hole from the inside out under the steering column. It comes in just above the carpet.
