Not really, I had sirius in my T/A when I bought it.

I don't really listen to the radio, and with 13 CD's to choose from at will, I didn't see a need for it. So I got it professionaly removed.

I am selling the complete kit if you guys would be interested. Comes with everything. PM if you are.

With a 2000 or newer CD head unit or any year cassette head unit you can use an adapter such as the GM9-AUX to provide RCA auxiliary input through the radio's CD changer port. Then you just get a 1/8" miniature stereo (headphone) plug to dual RCA cable so you can plug the satellite radio into the adapter.

What if you have a 1999 or older head unit? And if it can't be done with older h/u's can you put a 2000+ h/u in a 99 f-body?

The actual changeover was made in the middle of the 99 model year but I usually say 2000 or newer because it's very difficult to tell if a 99 is the early or late model. This only applies to CD head units - all years of cassette head units will work.

Yes, you can put a newer head unit in your 99. The changes on the newer models were completely internal so a newer one will mount and plug in exactly the same as the original. If you've decided to use the GM9-AUX adapter and are willing to buy a newer HU to make it work then I would try it with your existing HU. If you happen to have the later 99 model then it will work without buying anything else. But if it doesn't work then you haven't lost anything except time - you can then buy a newer HU to make the adapter work.

The connection in the rear where the stock antenna meets the extension wire that leads to the front is the same as the aftermarket.
