alpine 9835 or...
i loved that HU the 9835... but i like the new features of the new alpines with blue tooth and fullspeed ipod and **** like that... so whats the new "9835"
The 9855 is the last high end head unit that had all of the features that made the 9835 a favorite. None of the new units have the built in DSP processing (crossover, EQ, time alighnment, etc ...) or things like adjustable alumination, and I think even 4v pre-outs is missing on the latest alpines.
The ipod direct control sounds nice, but other then that, I think Alpine went in the wrong direction for '06.

edit: i found them, but that one has the glide touch... i think i might just stick with a 9835
found a 9857... ehhh i dont think its what i'm looking for.
The ipod high speed is only compatible with 2006 model decks.
I got rid of my 420i, and the 9855 is going in my daily driver , an 02 Buick Regal, along with a Harman Drive+Play for ipod duty.
For my Firehawk I now have a Pioneer P880PRS. It has built in eq, crossover, time alignment, etc ... and I plan on pairing it with Pioneers new ipod adapter as well, which is now only $50. Will probably be awhile before I have it up and running and can report back on how I like it, since right now I'm concentrating on the system for my Regal.
