Default to those who thought they fixed the rear defroster...

Reposting this here by request:

To those who searched(like i did) and found that most people apparently replace the rear defroster breaker with a fuse of the same amperage, need to know what happened to me this morning...

Nothing complicated but when i turned the defroster on it wouldnt come on until i pressed it again... figured o well but still seconds later smoke is pouring out of the fuse panel. Open door and blow out the fire and of course the defroster fuse is toast and surrounding fuses are melted, but i may have been lucky...

Just wanted to warn others of this situation...

o and i did this about 2 months ago with no problem until now...

I did this years ago on mine. I can't recall what amperage fuse I used, but haven't had any problems. I do keep an eye on it and don't let it run for too long.
