bose stereo............
bose stereo............ do i have to remove all the speakers and everything before I can put in an aftermarke CD player? i was kinda guessin i did because i heard that Bose runs on a .5 ohm, just seein if anyone had done it before
I would post on another forum, LT1 based or fbodyaudio. Most people here are LS1 based, 98 on up and I see very little talk about the Bose setups in LT1's.
However, I am 99% sure you can put in an aftermarket deck if you get an oem adapter (check crutchfield or some other similar site). The adapter is basically a pre-wired line level adapter to convert / route the head unit outputs to the factory amp setup correctly, and the proper pre-made one will make it a simple plug and play installation. Cost is probably $20-40.

todddchi is correct...you can replace a Bose head unit with an aftermarket one if you use the proper adapter. Older Bose systems like yours used special high-impedance low-level output from the head unit to power individual amps attached to each of the speakers. Newer Bose systems (2003 and newer) are more like the Monsoon - an ordinary head unit connected to an amp and tuned-location speakers.
