Default Personal experiences w IPOD to Monsoon

Yes-I've searched and read many posts on this.

Just looking 4 1st hand experiences w hooking these adapter up.
1. Which brand has worked well 4 u?
2. What is involved in hooking it up?
3. Where did you put the box, wiring, and ipod?
4. Any advise for someone doing this project?
5. I have a stock 2002 Monsoon single CD (w/ the AUX button but no actual CD changer) in a Z28. I've read these adapters work even though they say they have 2 b a cassette deck unit, that I'll B fine. Anyone w this very setup to confirm?
6. How do the stereo and steering wheel controls work the IPOD? I'm assuming you still need to pic the artist or playlist on the IPOD and it just cycles through songs right?
Pics and links would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

I have an ipod2car adapter. I bought mine on ebay, and it came with the correct harness to hook it up. Install was easy. You just pull the head unit out and connect the harness. I mounted the box on top of the head-unit with some double sided tape, and ran the wire to my glovebox where I keep the ipod. It replaces the CD changer(which I didn't have anyways) It does work with the AUX button. The head unit and steering wheel controls will work with this one, but you do select the artist or playlist with the ipod. Sometimes the ipod needs to be reset for the car's controls to work. I'm not sure why this happens, but it's not really a big deal.

aux-pod for me, sound quality is always excellent, no problems with the adapter itselt. I just dont like using the controls on the stereo because you can only go previous/next songs, so i just leave it stuffed in the "garage door opener slot" at the front of our consoles and use the ipod itself to change songs.

as for your questions - everything will fit behind the hu once you pull it out. You can velcro it to some of the braces and such back there so it wont fall out. I ran all my wires on top of the transmission hump under the dash, and then the connecting cable comes out on my side. Install is easy, i did it myself and i have very little experience with this kind of stuff. Just follow instructions and make sure you get the right harness, then sit all the dip switches correctly. Oh and i had the same hu as you, tape player only. I had a cd changer but it crapped out so i got this.
