Default aftermarket headunit question

im looking to purchase the alpine IVA-C801 (if you guys are familar with it), and i've looked at two stores so far. both salesmen have told me that i will need to replace the speakers if i get it, they said something about ohms on the monsoon systems not matching the alpines <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> , cant remember the specifics. i'd probly upgrade the speakers in the future anyway but i was just wondering if this is bs or not. thanks

If your doing just the headunit then you are fine. Install it as you would a regular headunit. Its when you get into swapping out the amp you'd want to do speakers.

You also may run into a small problem with the front tweeters as they are power off the stock receiver with out going through the monsoon amp..

tweeters, and all work fine, the monsoon just has one connection and thats the same 1990+ GM white connector. You can put almost any Delco deck in place of it, or any deck wired for a GM car
