Default Ordered an 8" Bazooka (powered)...

I found a pretty cheap site to shop from, and from all the reviews I've read on the shop, they are excellent. Most places wanted $299 (Crutchfield wanted $349 ) for the powered 8" subwoofer I ordered.

Bazooka RS8AHP 150-Watt powered subwoofer $219 at www.NowOnSpecial.com

I've had many competition-level sound systems, but my taste in music (and volume) has changed alot since my last system. I think this 8" Bazooka will help make the factory system sound nice, and I'll probably end up buying another one shortly. I really want something simple, removable, hidden, and good sounding. The price was right also!

Once it gets delivered and I get it wired up, I'll give my own review of it.

The best part is that I'm going to pre-wire my Formula and my GMC so that I can just swap it back and forth depending on what I'm driving that day

Please let us know what it sounds like.. I think it might sound better in the truck than the car because of the interior shape/size.. Be sure to stuff it in a corner..

Also the wiring it for quick removal is a great idea. I did that with my 12 inch subs via a 1/4 inch jack. When I went to the track this weekend, quick 115lb weight reduction..

I've always love stealth systems and making them removable. In my previous Mustang GT, I started out with a pair of JL 12s and AutoTek amps, but that box took up the trunk and weighed a ton. I built a much smaller box for two Punch Audiophile 8" subs, mounted my CD-changer in the face, and attached two Punch amps to the back. All wires were connected with plug-together terminal blocks, and the box was held in with 4 wingnuts. Took me 5 minutes to remove it completely (amps, CD changer, box all one piece)

Damn that car was SLOW!

Excellent service and packing from www.NowOnSpecial.com ! The package was on my doorstep in 6 days

I installed the Bazooka in my GMC last night and it sounds great. Its not a "booming system" by any means, but it does make the factory sound system (i've replaced all the speakers) sound excellent! It fit perfectly underneath the rear seat in the X-cab.

I have the 8 inch powered Bazooka in my Z28. It was a cheap (uBid-$119), lightweight, easy-to-remove way to add bass to the car. It is kind of boomy, but not too bad. My car is already very loud inside, so stereo precision/clarity is kinda lost anyway.

Bazooka makes two different amplified 8" subs. One is the cheaper 100W one, which has a single voice coil sub. The one I bought was the 150W "RS" series and it has a dual-voice coil sub which is able to go much deeper on the low notes.

Just FYI
