amp wiring ?

amp wiring ? i have 2 200w amps, one for each of my 2 subs. a guy i was talking to today said there is a way to wire my amps together to put 400w to each of my subs. i believe him, but i dont understand how to wire them. does anyone know what im talking about, and if so, how do i do it.

Re: amp wiring ? Wire them together to get 400W to each of the subs?? You start with 400 total watts, Seems to me the most you can send to either sub is 200... I may be wrong. You could wire them together and send 400W to one sub, which "might" sound better than the 200 to each. Re: amp wiring ? I really don't think it is that simple. Now if they (amps) are 2 ohm stable, I guess(would not recommend) you could wire each amp parrallel to both subs. Not really sure what will happen. How ever, you still won't get 400 to them. Maybe 300. Sorry, not much help, that is kind of a new one on me.
