Help!! Gauge lighting???

Help!! Gauge lighting??? The install for my fuel pressure gauge was pretty easy but even with the Helms manual I cannot figure out how to wire the gauge lighting into the dash lights so it will dimm with the dash/come on with the dash/etc.......
I have the gauge lighting wired with the black to ground and the Helms manual seems to say that the dimmer reostat has a gray wire that goes to the cluster bulbs.....but the gray wire does not seem to make the gauge light ...light!!??
I am not very good at electric schmatics....where should I hook the gauge lights??
I have a 2000 TA.

Gauge lighting??? all i simply did was plug the power wire into the fuse relay box by pulling the fuse for guage lights (its a 10 amp in the bottom right, i forget which number, check your owner manual) and then simply plug the fuse back in with that wire between it and the power clamps, mine dims and goes out with the lights, on with them. best of luck.

Sorry about posting in the wrong section....I looked in the electronics section and it looked to be biased to stereo mods and questions....I used to spend $$$$ on stereo bang but now just enjoy the distortion at high volumes.... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />
I removed the lights on/dimmer panel and used the small gray wire that is in the horizonal connector to the lights on switch (On a TA). I origionally thought to use the dimmer plug (vertical connector) as that should be the control out for dimming but the gray wire there did not work?? After posting I realized I could use the fuse panel but poked around anyway since the lights on/dimmer switch panel was already disassembled.
