Are the Autozone motors faster than the stock ones? The stock ones have been rather slow on my car from day 1. I would consider swapping them if I could find reasonably fast ones even though they work.

Im not sure...But I do know that the motor is made by SIEMENS so it's not a GM part. The guy at the dealership told me that the aftermarket motors are worse then the sotck ones but you know how that goes. The AutoZone motors have a lifetime warranty though..GM cant say that!

PewterZ, I cheated. I bought the AutoZone motor myself, and I made an appointment to have it installed by the mechanic that usually works on my car. It won't be done until next Thursday (this guy is busy), but the total bill will be $120 for parts and labor. I dearly love GM cars, but their dealer service leaves A LOT to be desired.

I wish I could find a shop here in Dallas that would do that. Every shop around here is stingy about installing customer parts..Im just gonna do it myself..Its gonna suck though....

I just finished this repair. I'm REALLY cheap, so I decided to do it myself rather than taking it to my shop. I do not like body work; I hate taking a drill to my car; I feel uncomfortable trying something new that may cause serious damage if done incorrectly. That said, it was really easy to do. You'd be surprised. Try it and see. SAVE MONEY!!! DOWN WITH CHEVY SERVICE!!!

U still have warranty? If you don't .... just buy the Auto Zone motors for 50 bucks a piece and do it yourself. Its a piece of cake.
