does anybody know why or what causes.....
Why the rear defroster will shut off prematurely? and it also causes the power seat on the drivers side functions not to work either? you cant turn it on for a few minutes or move the seat? then it will work again for a short time. My 00' T/A has had this prob for a while and now my 99' T/A is doing it? I tried swapping the circuit breaker in the fuse panel but it still does it?
any ideas???? <img border="0" alt="[Banging Head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />
I just switched the breakers earlier today and it seems to stay on, but the breaker gets so hot you cant touch it!
I have checked all connections to no avail.
Have you found a cure yet?
I will let you know what I find when I do.
Dave
I put a 30 amp fuse in instead of the 30 amp breaker.
I then put a DC amp meter on the line at the fuse and it shows 24 amps. I now know that the system is ok because after checking I let it go through its 10 min run time and the amps never went over 25. Yes it ran its full 10 min!!!!
The 30 amp breakers dont seem to run to good for this defroster??? It says Wagner on the breaker so I doubt if its factory so I will try a factory 30 amper one.
Meanwhile the 30 amp fuse works well and yes it does share the circuit with the electric seats.
on a thermal mechanism - basically
a small heating resistance and a
thermostat, in a controlled thermal
impedance casing. So, if you're
operating near the trip point, you
are throwing some heat (just not
quite enough to snap the bimetal
spring over).
Circuit breakers in confined spaces
may trip at less than their free-air
rating, because the power can keep
driving the temperature up when there's
no good heat dissipating air circulation.
