Swapping CD HU for cassette HU

Swapping CD HU for cassette HU Reason I want to do this is I am using the XM FM modulator and reception is terrible here in LA area. I don't have any reception problems with the cassette adaptor in my truck, so I was wondering if I could swap in a OE cassette HU for my CD HU. A friend at work has a 1999 Tahoe and still has his original cassette HU, which I think is the same style as mine.
So here's the questions:
1. Can I swap my CD HU for the cassette HU?
2. Will there be any code or theftlock issues?
3. If #1 is yes, can I install the OE 12-disc CD changer? I've heard that the factory wiring for it is installed, so it should be a plug-n-play.

Yes, you can swap in a cassette head unit for the CD one without any problems (providing that they are the same size - I'm not sure about the Tahoe). If you swap from a different model of vehicle you may have to buy new mounting brackets because they won't come off your original radio (they're about $4 at the dealer).
There won't be any code issues and TheftLoc isn't a problem as long as neither radio has had it turned on or as long as the owner knows the code if it was turned on.
Yes, the factory changer will work with the cassette head unit in any model year. The wiring harness is already in your car taped to the left hatch area speaker harness.
